MS Lit HW from Sept.30/Oct. 2

1. From your homework packet, read the three assigned poems "Orpheus With His Lute Made Trees," "Wise I," and the excerpt from "Fingal's Cave" answering the analyzation questions for each poem as thoroughly as possible.

2. Grammar: Write three sentences with three prepositional phrases each. If you are having trouble doing this, try writing sentences telling me how to find your favorite spots, like your room, your treehouse, or your family's favorite vacation spot.

3. Finish your journal packet, due October 7/9 (during the next class)! Your last journal is a free write. Write seven sentences about whatever you'd like.

4. Finish your original poem, due October 7/9. This poem should be typed or written on the handout given in class.  It should have eight lines, show at least three poetic elements, and have something to do with myths. (I left this last requirement off the worksheet, and if you've already written your poem NOT about myths, that's okay!) You should also answer the questions about your poem at the bottom of that handout.

5. Acquire a copy of The Hobbit if you haven't already. We will have our first homework from this book October 14/16 (due the next week).

6. Begin studying for your ItMfK test, October 14/16. Study all notes from class, homework questions, vocabulary, and quizzes.
