You can take the quiz ON YOUR OWN PAPER by just numbering and writing the letters and/or sentences. Please label your at-home quiz with the quiz number, your name, and the date and have your parent sign the paper signifying that you took the quiz without homework or book.

3. GRAMMAR LESSON: PUNCTUATION Punctuation and Capitalization discussion. Write a sentence. What makes it a sentence? Use this handout.

5. Class discussion: What is genre? Use genre chart to talk about different Fiction genres. List them and their definitions. Save the "literary elements" column for classwork in two weeks (Sept. 9/11).
