4. Literary Elements Classroom Discussion --Ask students to help me list literary elements--Go back and take notes about each. Teach through this Literary Elements Worksheet. Focus on characterization.

Watch short Pixar film:

How would you characterize these two characters? How do you find out about the characters? Push them to come up with the Speech, Thoughts, Effects on Others, Actions, Looks

Use STEAL to work through a few characters of the class' choice.

5. In four groups, use STEAL method to characterize the following characters:
  • 1. Reuben
  • 2. Jeremiah
  • 3. Davy
  • 4. Swede
5. Make a characterization chart for yourself for HW (examine yourself). If time in class, work on those.

6. Go over HW.
