1. How does the man the author dreams of appear in the beginning of the first chapter? What does he look like?
He is dressed in rags with a Book in his hands and a burden on his back.
"Flee from the coming wrath!" Walk toward the light, knock on the Gate, and follow the instructions.
- What reason does Christian give that he knows that the words of his Book are absolutely true? He says they are true because the book was made by Him Who Cannot Lie.
- What are the “things where they are going” and “how are they to be enjoyed”?

5. What does the author ask Help and what is Help’s answer? Why has this bog not been repaired so that travelers can be safe? Much effort has been made to fix the place but it cannot be mended. Instead, a safe way has been made for those who will look for it and stay on it.
5. Talk about the correlation between Bunyan's life and this allegory. Give out the simple map of Elstow from The Christian Adventure book (p43) and read pages 60-61 from that book.
